A Patient Chart for Every Need

The heart of any physical therapy or medical practice is essentially patient care, and as you know each piece of that patient care should be included in the patient chart. Historically, medical offices housed thousands of physical patient charts full of all information pertaining to each patient the practice served. But as the digital revolution aimed to make practicing medicine more streamlined, the opposite seemed to happen for the patient charts in many medical practices. Patient information was divested from their EHR which was separated from practice billing and as a result patient information became scattered throughout the digital office.

At PatientStudio, the heart of our mission is to revert to the idea of a legacy patient chart that held all information necessary for each patient seen in the office, but to do so online. In this next installment of our PatientStudio video series, project manager Derek Sanborn will talk about each part of the patient chart is integrated and organized, and ultimately how it can help keep your digital space organized.

Patient Information

One of the simplest purposes of a patient chart is to securely house all personal information about each individual. The PatientStudio chart has a streamlined patient demographic system that only displays necessary fields so that providers and office staff can quickly and easily access any personal information they need about a patient.

More importantly, though, because our patient chart system is integrated with all of our intake forms so that patient information is automatically populated into the patient chart. Personal information, medical history, medication, and insurance information are all automatically populated to the correct portion of the patient chart making these details easy to access. This feature also dramatically cuts down on time and energy input from front office staff as they are no longer required to manually transfer information from a disjointed digital form and EHR or RCM.

Treatment Details

One of the first pieces of digitized medical documentation was the EHR. Most practices today utilize a digital EHR to document patient treatment. The beauty of the PatientStudio patient chart is that all information input into the EHR by the provider is automatically input into the individual's patient chart. Any treatment plan recommended, any medication prescribed, all referrals are instantaneously included in the patient's chart. Constant updates as they are input into the EHR means that not only is all information located in one place, but also that the billing process can be executed much more seamlessly.

Billing From the Patient Chart

Because the PatientStudio patient chart incorporates all financial information, billing is made much more streamlined. The patient's insurance details, along with files containing insurance cards, are maintained in the same system as personal collections and documentation. It is very easy to visualize the progress of billing for each service as well as what payments have been received and which are still outstanding. By centralizing this information, office staff are easily able to track every dollar that is owed to the practice without switching between completely disjointed patient record systems and billing software.

Documentation

One of the most innovative pieces of our system, and one that our customers are often very appreciative of, is the level of documentation included within the patient chart. All communication with each patient is easily noted. Each and every document submitted by the patient is transferred to a pdf and included in a well organized database so that it can easily be accessed when necessary. Images of identification or insurance cards are retained, and are easily accessible within the patient chart. The documentation available within the patient chart ensures that nothing related to any patient can ever slip through the cracks leading to an unhappy provider or patient.

Allow Derek to take you through the features of the PatientStudio patient chart in real time to see how each of these features integrate. Your practice could function at a whole new level with the help of a patient chart system that elevates the all encompassing file folder of old into a digital system that delivers on the term patient chart.
